I took a few shots last night of a friend who wanted a head-shot for an acting resume. First time doing this but enjoyed it, this is one of the shots I ended up liking.

I was lucky enough to be asked to shoot the new look-book for Thakoon last week, nothing crazy just simple nicely lit full body shots against a white wall. Things went very well and by the end of the day I had shot and edited 48 looks! I will put some of those pictures up a little later once the clothes are on the market. In the mean time... this is a cropped shot of the model I was shooting. This was actually taken 2 days ago when I was shooting their shoes and accessories.

Here are some results... Taken using my Cactus V4's, an old Cobra D425 flash (stoop sale purchase) and my Canon 350d. Taken at f9 to let enough light in from the flash then a 6 second handheld exposure to 'play' with the lights in the background.

This one was shot at f7.1 and a 10 second exposure. The Cactus would not fire at this long range so I had Amanda fire the Cactus manually during the exposure. A little P.S. in this one to clone out the flash which was set on the grass by her feet.

Very pleased how these came out.

I bought myself a set of these bad boys. They are the latest release of Cacuts' wireless flash triggers V4. At $40 you really cant complain and from my little test run they worked every time, a vast improvement on the V2's. I'm excited to see what pictures i can create using these. Now all I need to do is save up for a decent flash.

Fellow photographer Shannon and I got together yesterday to shoot some of our friends in their studio space. Using some hot lights and a couple of backdrops we both got some very good shots. Here is one of my favourites of Matt.

Just picked the first reel to be developed from my RB67. I just ran 1 roll through to test it out and got it developed at a 'cheap' 1 hr style place.

As you can see... it works! Not the best developing job and the guy scanned them to a cd for me at a very poor resolution but hey... all i needed to know what that it works, oh and that my ghetto style of metering works (use the settings from my digital!).

Big plans for this camera, watch this space.

This is my first attempt at HDR (high dynamic range) photography. I'm not the biggest fan of HDR but I like to give these things a try. It's basically the process of merging 3 photos together, 1 over exposed, 1 under and 1 correct exposure then tweaking a few sliders. Want to know more...? google is your friend.

These shoes are the result of my amazing Christmas present from my wonderful wife. She got me a gift certificate to design my own shoes at the nike store. You basically sit down with a designer and pick out the colours of pretty much every part of the trainer, 3-4 weeks later they arrive, ace huh!

So I took this picture with a little point and shoot camera that my sister-in-law gave us. Its actually 3 pictures stitched together using a program called Calico... I highly recommend it. Its a beach near Carmel in San Francisco, beautiful isn't it!

I bought a new old camera (Nikkormat EL) and tested it out in England. This is Joe and Claire in Mousehold Heath, Norwich. Its super grainy and terrible quality but I think thats because I just used some random old film I found laying around the apartment and also got it developed cheaply. I like it though.

Whoop, I got my green card. My passport has been stamped and the card is on its way! (no, thats not me in the picture).

Social security number is on the way too and I have opened a bank account, its all very exciting.

Been taking a few pictures here and there but haven't really liked any enough to post them, keep watching this space though.

Ok, another picture of Mandy. Just trying out some lights that I have laying around, just regular work lights with household 1o0W bulbs.

Tweaked a little in photoshop: Gradient map for B&W, slight skin softening and a warming filter added.

Started making some music with my friend Ken yesterday, will hopefully have a semi finished track tomorrow. Will upload it here if it ends up being half good... watch this space.

So this is my new blog. Decided to get rid of my old one as I think i was still paying for it, pfft!

henrymounser.blogspot.com is going to be filled mostly by my photographs but I will be sharing some music now and then... albums other people have uploaded, some I have uploaded myself and maybe perhaps some of my own music I have made! I may do requests too if you ask nicely.

The first picture I am uploading is this one of my wife Amanda. Taken using a torch as the only light source hence the cool reflection in the sunglasses.
